An Executive Education (EXED) programme is a special learning and training programme for working professionals in which an individual achievement of the programme learning outcomes are assessed by a combination of RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) as well as the academic and training components delivered both by the university and its approved industry partners.

EXED also an alternative path of education for working people in industry that might previously not have had the opportunity to pursue normal academic programmes in order to enhance their career and to develop and update their skills and knowledge. This programme is aimed at tackling industry’s specific issue and urgent manpower needs not addressed through conventional channels.

A key feature of the EXED programme is that entry requirements are based on personal capability and work experience rather than academic qualifications. For executive diploma programmes, the criteria of student admission are based on the admission policies and guidelines approved by the University Senate and in accordance with Guidelines For the Executive Programmes stipulated by the Malaysian Qualification Agency. In order to provide the quality training, GITS Corporate Training Services works with clients to help identify issues and solve problems using a systematic and creative approach. GITS Corporate Training Services involvement varies with the nature of the situation and the request of the client. In particular, the assignment may range from ad hoc advice on a particular problem or issue, to the design of comprehensive training programmes for the client as well as the evaluation and revision of existing programmes.

After meeting with the client and agreeing to the scope of the project, a team of specialized consultants starts working with the client’s staff. Together they collect facts and data, which they then analyze using the latest techniques to identify practical solutions. After agreeing on the solutions, they train the client’s staff under executive education programme, assist in the implementation and help the client achieve long lasting benefits.

The Executive Diploma is awarded by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. To graduate, students should:

• Complete a total of 60 credit hours with minimum CGPA of 2.00.
• Complete and pass the Executive Diploma Project I (Proposal) and Executive Diploma Project II (Report).
